Washington, DC

Christ Episcopal Church

Spring 1996

This project is the complete restoration and additions to what is the oldest religious structure in the original city of Washington, DC. The original church structure was finished in the lat the 1700's and was remodeled and added to many times over the following two centuries. The current design, besides the historic restoration of the original sanctuary, provides a new parish hall/theatre, commercial kitchen, administrative offices, classrooms, meeting rooms, worship spaces and cloisters. The project was almost five years in design, historic preservation review and construction documents. Construction has begun on a limited basis with completion date of the entire design yet to be determined.
