La Otra Vanda, Galisteo, New Mexico

This project was a 12-year renovation and restoration of a pre-Civil War era, traditional stone and adobe house in the village of Galisteo, New Mexico. This was my home and, later, rental property. The work was a combination of my own (hands-on) and local sub-contractors. The existing house has 2-foot thick adobe walls resting on dry-stack stone foundation walls, in the manner of the mid-1800’s, Northern New-Mexico building tradition.
